For awhile I’ve been enjoying listening to old Transformers books-on-tape while lying down. I recently decided to look at a list of titles with publication dates, so that I could try listening to them in order (not that it really matters much…they’re stand-alone stories with little to no continuity between books).
Anyway, I’m really having fun with it. Makes me feel like a kid, I suppose. I’m starting with the Ladybird books (a UK publisher…I don’t recall having ever seen them as a kid), even though some others were released a little earlier. They’re actually pretty solid story-wise. All are written by the same author, John Grant. The sound effects are pretty cool, as well.
The first one in the Ladybird series is titled Autobots’ Lightning Strike. How’s that for an exciting first entry?
If you’re interested in Transformers books in general, I recommend checking out Steve-o’s Transformers Book Archive. It has information about a great number of Transformers books, as well as scans of the actual books themselves. It’s a very fun website to peruse.
