Oh, yes…philately! I got into stamp collecting in a similar fashion as postcard collecting and around the same time. I began collecting stamps featuring writers and poets and soon began to develop a more broad appreciation of stamps in general.

Mythology and classical antiquity are other subjects I like, and I’ve come across some wonderful stamps related to these topics. Future stamp-collecting themes might include saints and/or cathedrals, castles, and particular historical eras and events.
In addition to collecting by topic, I also like to collect stamps I simply find especially beautiful. Most often it seems I like engraved stamps the most; stamps printed in one or two colors can display an incredible combination of simplicity and intricacy.
Stamps are a wonderful way to learn about any number of topics…postal history, individual countries, art and design, and an almost endless variety of topics represented on stamps.

I’ve been slow in adding to these stamp pages, but I plan to add scans of more stamps in the future.
