Here is an old book jot from September 2021:
I finished reading Bus Station Mystery (1974), the 18th book in the Boxcar Children series by Gertrude Chandler Warner. In this story, the four Alden siblings are once again involved in an unanticipated adventure. This time, a bus station, a river, and a paint factory are all involved, as well as a bus station manager/cook/bird enthusiast/angler/chemist named Frank, a Mr. Pickett and his two sons Jud and Troy, and the Aldens’ grandfather.
The importance of a healthy environment for fish, ducks, people, and other creatures is stressed in this story. These brisk books are fun to read aloud to kids who might have a penchant for tales of mystery and adventure.
